Journey to Bayreuth
(to the hotel restaurant Lohmühle)
Travelling by car (north/south connection) - from Munich or Berlin
Please exit the A9 motorway (Munich-Berlin) either at exit 41 (Bayreuth-North) or at exit 42 (Bayreuth) and follow the brown signs "Hotels Innenstadt" and then "Zur Lohmühle".
Approach by car from the direction of Bamberg/Kulmbach (from the west)
Turn onto the A70 motorway at the Bayreuth/Kulmbach triangle and head onto the A9 (Berlin-Munich) towards Nuremberg.
Then take either exit 41 (Bayreuth North) or exit 42 (Bayreuth) and follow the brown signs for "Hotels Innenstadt" and then "Zur Lohmühle".
Arrival by car from Prague (from the east)
Drive on the Czech motorway E 49 / A 6 to the border crossing Schirnding – and from there take the federal road 303 / E 48, passing Arzberg, Marktredwitz, and Bischofsgrün until you reach Bayreuth.
After reaching the city limits of Bayreuth, head towards the city center and finally follow the brown signs for "Hotels Innenstadt," then "Zur Lohmühle."
Travelling to Bayreuth by train
From Nuremberg Hbf, you can take the "Pendolino" (Regional Express) to Bayreuth hourly. Please ensure that you are sitting in the correct part of the "Pendolino." Sometimes the trains are uncoupled, split, and continue in different directions. From the train station, it takes you 10 minutes on foot to reach the hotel. Alternatively, taxis are available at the station.
Approaching Bayreuth by aeroplane
Land in your private plane at our Bayreuth Regional Airport. If desired, you can charter a plane with a pilot and fly wherever you want!
How to get to the Hotel Restaurant Lohmühle in Bayreuth by bike
Bayreuth is located on several well-known long-distance cycling routes and is an excellent destination, starting point, and/or stopover for leisure cyclists and sports cyclists on touring bikes, racing bikes, mountain bikes, and/or pedelecs and e-bikes. No matter from which direction you are coming to Bayreuth as a cyclist, the route to our bike-friendly (ADFC quality seal!) Hotel Restaurant Lohmühle is quite simple:
From all directions, always follow the signs towards the city center, and as soon as you reach the city center, continue to follow the signs to the Margravial Opera House. The Margravial Opera House is located on a gentle hill (Opernstraße). Ride up this hill to Sternplatz (with a fountain featuring a statue of a rider). From there, Badstraße branches off, which you can follow by bike until you reach Lohmühle.
