The Richard Wagner Festival transforms Bayreuth into an international cultural city every year. And the program for 2025 is promising again: From "The Mastersingers of Nuremberg" to "Tristan and Isolde" and the Festival Open-Air, there is much to offer for Wagner enthusiasts as well as newcomers.
Already today, on July 24 (one day before the actual program starts), the first highlight takes place with the grand Festival Open-Air in the park below the Festival House.
Our extended opening hours during the festival season – from July 24 to August 26, 2025:
Kitchen Hours
Daily (Mon–Sun):
2:00 PM – 6:00 PM: small menu and homemade cakes
6:00 PM – 9:30 PM: menu and table dishes
Saturday and Sunday 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM (additional)
Plus: And after the often quite long opera performance? No problem: Our kitchen remains open for festival guests until about 1 hour after the opera ends (Note: not after other events like Open Air or other concerts)! In fact, it can get quite late, as the last curtain falls for certain operas at 10:00 PM!
Please note: We are closed on August 27, 2025
Our service for our festival guests (and of course for all other hotel guests!):
- We are happy to reserve a taxi or shuttle for you to the Festival House (or elsewhere) – on time and stress-free.
- An umbrella is always ready for you in case of rain!
- Did you bring your dog but have no time for a walk? For a small fee, we are happy to take your four-legged friend along on the tour.
More useful tips – especially for festival newcomers:
- There are digital and real introductory lectures by the festival, which provide valuable insights.
- The festival website offers a comprehensive FAQ section, in case you have any questions.
- With the 3D tour, you can virtually explore the Festival House in advance.
- The beginning and end of the breaks are traditionally signaled with fanfares – a true festival feeling!
- Note: The access road to the Festival House is heavily trafficked shortly before the start of an opera – so start on time, whether on foot (about 35 minutes from Lohmühle), by car, or by taxi (reserve on time – which we can take care of!).
… and for all other guests?
Even those who have nothing to do with the festival will find in Lohmühle a perfect place for good food and relaxed moments – without hustle and bustle, but with excellent service and top-quality regional offerings.
We wish everyone a wonderful festival season – whether as a music fan, walker, connoisseur, or seeker of peace.
For all questions, your bookings, and special requests, we are happy to assist you!
