Explanation: what is a Franconian ‘Schnitt’?
A Franconian ‘Schnitt’ is traditionally the last beer (nightcap) of a visit to a pub or cellar bar. The beer is poured quickly into the glass with lots of foam. It is a compromise quantity: less than a full beer but more than half a beer, with the foam reaching the rim and the glass still well filled.
